Facebook employees have recently started a discussion on Twitter, (#doubledislike) concerning internal talks about the upcoming release of a double like button.
Their concern is that this takes the concept too far, resulting in the erosion of the engagement interactions value. Others disagree stating that in reality there is the need to add more value to a like than just the value of 1. It is the belief of those in favor of the double like button that there needs to be much more weighting involved in the button.
Speculation around the name of this weighted approval function is wide at the moment but around 78% of those in the #doubledislike group believe that the double like would be best represented in the original like button but will require a doubleclick. Will it catch on? it remains to be seen…
